Bluestone's Pull The Lever
"Kronk"
AKC FSS - $3500
Kronk is available for placement due to no fault of his own but instead because he is just not what we are needing in a stud dog to continue pushing our working AKC program into the future.
I held him back from our first pairing of Savannah de la Pommeraie des Loups (Savannah) x Brace for Impact van Helios (Rogue) from 2024 to get a good feel for what we were producing.
He was one of the slower puppies to turn on and I wanted to give him a chance to grow up a little bit in a working home environment with multiple bite club days a week to get an idea of how the slower puppies matured.
I believe him to be a fine example of what a current working AKC dutchie should be but he is the end result of a purposeful pairing - not the stud who will propel the breed further into competing against current BRN dogs.
*All my descriptions of Kronk are based off of the perfect example of a BRN Dutch Shepherd. I am very critical of what we have produced so my takes are from a breeder's ands decoy's perspective.
-He was slower to turn on and took awhile to have any desire to work for food/toy. Now it is absolutely at a serviceable level and he enjoys it.
-He is also very social but leans heavily towards submissiveness which is not what I need in a stud.
-He great with other dogs but needs help from the handler if the other dog is not willing to correct him. He holds no grudges and I use him in reactive dog lessons at work.
-With his big head he has a seriously crushing bite when he is feeling himself with zero leather or grip work
-He works great on people he knows like me but I think some of that sumbissiveness comes out on new people if they dont move just how I do. He gets a little uncomfortable but works through it. I have no doubt that with some defensive excercises and confidence boosting added with some more maturity he will continue to develop into an awesome dog.
-He is a boy with the attention span you would expect from a goofy teenager
-He has good environmentals with sounds/textures/heights, slightly cautious of new dark buildings but recovers easily, and can be weird with passing cars but I have not worked on it - just something I saw while he was young
He is on a crate/rotate schedule at the house. He can be a barky boy in his crate but I have not really stuck with trying to fix it since its not an issue over here. He is clean in his crate and travels in the car well.
He knows:
An alert, place, sit, down, pet style heel, very prancy focused heel, multiple reward markers, recall, a bite command, and has a super low conflict no tools out on both toys and suit.
He was started on upper body (left bicep) but has been on left leg for about 6 months now. I made the transition because his recovery time from stress was much quicker on legs - not because he was unwilling or unable to go upper.
Kronk is looking for a home who will continue with sport work. He can excel in a multitude of venues. He is being placed on contract. Please reach out with any questions.
